Why I’m wearing SPF sun protection all winter long

Since I’m super pale and burn quite easily, I wear sunscreen with 50+ SPF every single day during spring and summer. But when the colder months roll around, I always forget whether or not you’re meant to wear sun protection in winter. I headed to the Cancer Council website and the answer is whenever UV levels are 3 or above, or you’re outside for an extended period of time, it’s a yes! While UV rays in winter compared to summer are much lower, in some parts of Australia you’re still at risk of sun damage. So lucky for me I’m reviewing Abeeco’s Face + Body Natural Sunscreen SPF 50.

While I sit in an office from Monday to Friday, come the weekend you can find me in a park playing with my two-year-old. So Abeeco’s Natural Sunscreen Face + Body Natural Sunscreen SPF 50 is the perfect weekend accessory.
It's a physical sunscreen so it appears thick and white to start with, but it actually makes it easier to know where you’ve applied the sunscreen. Plus it quickly changes to a clear consistency. And since it is a physical SPF, I'm more than happy to apply it to my child. I tested how it wears under makeup and I could still easily dot and blend my foundation over the top. But I'm more inclined to use a physical sunscreen when I'm not wearing makeup. I can't wait to use it all over my body when summer hits again. It's going to be a staple in my beach bag.
Have you tried this sunscreen? Do you prefer physical or chemical sunscreen?

Definitely physical. Chemical based ones are not drying as physical though, but they burn my eyes, heat the skin and somehow (trough the skin? tear ducts?...) reach the taste buds, super bitter stuff.

I love physical sunscreens because I never need to reapply throughout the day!

I am an office worker and wear sunscreen everyday. In the last few days when it's been so rainy I have wondered whether I need to slap on the sunscreen but I am so used to it now, I feel a little 'naked' not applying it now!! It's so weird!
I am currently using the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid. I would never have thought I'd like such a light formula but it's fantastic over moisturiser and under make up. It's much less matte than other sunscreens (even high-end), not completely matte but good enough.

I am a massive fan of sunscreen. Whether it’s Summer or Winter, I make sure that I wear a small amount just under my Makeup before heading outside.

I'm always on the look out for a good sunscreen! I am extremely fair and need to wear sunscreen every day. I'm always hesitant to use some brands on my face though, as they seem so strong and I get worried what I'm putting on my face.

I'm mad for SPF protection and even check the UV rating most days to determine which level of protection I need to apply. As a fair skinned freckly girl, I'm always on the hunt for a holy grain sunscreen.

I apply my spf every single day. I really can't care less about physical or chemical sunscreen as long as it is broad spectrum. I don't have sensitivity issues. On my girl I use physical as there is no wait time!

I always use sunscreen in winter and find it essential. I do like a more moisturising sunscreen in winter tho to keep skin hydrated through the cold months

I’m after a sunscreen that isnt oily and greasy for the love of my skin! Everytime I wear sunscreen I break out so badly . I never even thought about wearing sunscreen in winter but I guess I should consider it. I wonder if I could get away with makeup that has SPF in it over winter?.. would that be enough?..

Definitely in need of a sunscreen that isn’t as heavy as traditional sunscreens. Very hard to find!

as the moisturiser I am using at the present time already has a 15+ sunscreen in it I am very happy with it...I also use it every day after I had to have a skin cancer removed from my face...I am now very careful and make sure I use it every day.

I wear sunscreen all year. I quite like Olay Complete Defence SPF 30 daily moisturising lotion for sensitive skin. It's light and fragrance free and is easily absorbed with no greasy film.

I've heard there's UVA = ageing and UVB = Burning. The UV index is based on UVB which is what makes the skin burn. UVA is the same strength from when the sun rises til it sets, and comes through the clouds to age us, every season every day. Sounds dramatic. Im not sure how true this is but I wear sunscreen everyday.

I haven't heard of this sunscreen before but you're right, you do need sun protection in winter. Despite just having a 3rd non-melanoma removed, even I forget to slap on the SPF from time to time. I am on the hunt for an SPF moisturiser atm as I think now is the right time of year to incorporate both those elements.
I've got the BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) Weather app on my phone, which gives me a UV index every day. I've found it particularly helpful, but more often than not of late its been telling me that sun protection is not recommended, which is somewhat concerning.
