5 face masks to improve your skin including the Lush Jelly Mask
Face masks are the easiest way to combat any skin condition from dry skin to acne prone skin and even dullness and irritated skin. When getting an in-salon facial or skin treatment isn’t an option, an at-home face mask is a perfect remedy. And no matter what your budget is there’s a face mask to suit.

We put five face masks to the test and the results were amazing. So if you’re looking to improve your skin, read my review on each face mask below and watch the video to see how to apply each of them.
1. Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Dead Sea Peel-Off Cleanse & Detoxify Easy Peel Mask
Good for: Purifying & refining
My review: I’ve always been a fan of the Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven face masks. Back in the day, there were it when it came to face masks. But they’ve stood the test of the time and have an effective range. The consistency of this face mask is quite runny and sticky to start with, so you need to be quick when applying it. It does take 25 minutes for it to dry before you can peel it off, so make sure you allocate plenty of time. I thought I could peel it off after 10 minutes, but you really do need to wait the 25 minutes. It contains sea salt to exfoliate, seaweed to help detoxify and chamomile to soothe. Once it was dry, I found it easier to peel off by starting from my jaw line towards my forehead. It felt slightly uncomfortable to peel it off but once I did, my skin was super smooth and glowy afterward.
2. Lancôme Paris Advanced Genefique Hydrogel Melting Mask
Good for: Hydrating & rejuvenating
My review: I’m a massive fan of Lancôme Paris Advanced Genefique products so I didn’t need to be won over. Infused with hydration and active ingredients such as bifidus extract , once the mask hits the skin, the gel essence gradually melts to release them into your skin. It instantly felt super hydrating on my skin and I was pleased to know you could either leave it on for 10 minutes up to 30 minutes. After taking it off, I massaged any excess essence into my skin. My dry skin basically vanished. It also felt soft to touch and looked radiant.
3. GlamGlow Bubblesheet Oxygen
Good for: Detoxifying & hydrating
My review: After watching loads of Instagram videos about GlamGlow products, I was super excited to try one myself - especially since I needed to improve my pimple situation. It fitted to my face perfectly and after a few minutes, it started to bubble and tingle a bit. The bubbling part is the oxygenating happening, which helps skin to shed dead cells faster and replace them with newer, healthier ones. You only have to leave this one on for three minutes, so it’s great for the time poor. Infused with charcoal and green tea, it’s made to detoxify and remove makeup, which it did. My skin felt and looked super cleansed afterward and my pimples and whiteheads had basically vanished.
4. Lush The Birth of Venus Jelly Face Mask
Good for: Soothing & calming
My review: I’d read so much about jelly masks, so I couldn’t wait to try one for myself. The texture of this mask is different to most I’ve tried before. It’s wobbly like jelly but feels quite dry. I had to pinch it out and warm it up between my fingers to effectively apply it. I always feel good using Lush products because so they’re so ethically responsible in the making or their products. It says to leave it on for 5 to ten minutes, but even though I only left it on for 5 minutes, my skin still felt calm, soothed and brighter.
5. Elizabeth Arden Superstart Probiotic Cleanser Whip to Clay
Good for: Protecting & supporting
My review: This product is technically a cleanser, but it acts like a mini face mask as you need to leave it on your skin for a minute. But it also transforms into a mineral-rich clay once it hits your skin to help purify and support your skin’s natural defenses. The texture of this one makes it super easy to apply. It felt quite soothing and hydrating on my skin, so I actually left it on for another couple of minutes. Even though it’s a purifying product it didn’t leave my skin feeling dry at all.

I'd love to try a jelly mask, its one I haven't tried before. I love and use 7th Heaven masks regularly- they've been around as long as I can remember. I love their peel off masks, I have the dead sea one sitting around waiting to be used. Can't wait to try it.

After trying those 35 bucks a pop, then those 10$ (half priced on sales for 5)....all nothing, absolutely a waste of time and money. Then went to W cosmetics store and got a few packs to try : Japanese 7 mask packs (week of use) for 10ner. Lululun...this stuff and another Japanese made ones DO make a difference. I almost gave up on sheet masking....now a convert! Stuff is a bomb!

My favourite face mask is the Cosmetic Warrior face mask from Lush. It is such a gentle mask that helps to balance out my skin and leaves my face feeling so soft and moisturised which is really great now that it is winter. :)

I use a DIY mask with Apple Cider Vinegar And Water to clean my skin. It is packed full of pectin, malic acid, and potassium – all necessary for a healthy clean free from blotches, blemishes, and dirt. It’s super easy and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to make.

I've tried quite a few masks of different formulas. I definitely go for sheet masks most, as I have dry skin, and clay masks are known to be quite drying. I don't really like peel-off masks either.
However I was left very surprised by the Essano Rosehip purifying clay mask. I recieved this at a BH event and i never would have tried it otherwise. It would suit someone with acne prone dry skin perfectly. It leaves your skin feeling deeply cleansed but hydrated at the same time.
I'd also like to get more into Korean/Taiwanese masks in the near future.

I love masks :) I'd love to try the peel off one (or any of them, really). I remember using a peel off mask from Helena Rubinstein decades ago and I loved it :) (Yes, I am showing my age there; HR hasn't been in Australia in many many years :( )
