Introducing the $7 solution for at-home pimple patches, according to TikTok

After stepping in as an emergency nipple cover when we’re unable to wear a bra, the humble band-aid has now saved us from yet another beauty crisis. This time, making the climb from foot to face.
Those little, oval-shaped cushion bandages are being praised by TikTok users as the answer to at-home pimple patches; successfully sucking all the oozy goodness out of our unwelcomed whiteheads.

With the support of dermatologists (who have revealed that when it comes to extracting superficial pimples, they might just be on to something) these Hydrocolloid blister bandages “work by absorbing excess fluid” which “pulls oil and dirt away from the pimple” says New York-based dermatologist Hadley King, MD when speaking to Well and Good.
So once you’ve blocked out some time that preferably doesn’t require leaving the house, and have come to terms with the fact you’ve got a foot bandage or two on your face, you may find this $7 solution offers a similar result to its pricier, more glamorous counterpart.
While a pimple patch will typically offer a more sophisticated formula, including antibacterial ingredients like salicylic acid, Hadley reveals the blister designated patch may be favoured by those who find their skin is easily irritated.
“They generally don’t dry out the skin and leave it flaky, like more classic acne spot treatments containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide,” she revealed. “This means that they can be particularly helpful for people with sensitive skin and mild acne.”
At the very least, they will stop you from poking and picking at your poor face.

I like this idea, I don't get that many pimples these days but my partner suffers from adult acne and would love this.

It seems like a good alternative to spot treatments. Depends on if you are going out or not :)

I didn't know something like this has so much going on in one patch. Mine only has Tea Tree Extract.

Fantastic option and I wonder if humans used something like to this effect centuries ago when over-the-counter pimple solutions were not in existance?!

I've always bought a big hydrocolloid patch and cut it up, it works well on pimples and healing cuts without scarring

Ah now this is something I will mention to my youngest. She hates the pimple patches as they always cause an upset with her skin.
