How to stay comfortable during pregnancy

From morning sickness to swollen feet and constipation, preparing for the ‘miracle of life’ can sometimes feel like a mighty ask. Your body is doing some amazing things to accommodate its new little guest, but as all mums know, it takes its toll.

RELATED: The awkward side effects of pregnancy
Luckily, there are certain things you can do to amp up your comfort levels in a big way. Below, we’ve rounded up six of the best ways for expectant mums to feel as comfortable as possible during their nine month journey...
#1 Buy some belly butter
As your baby bump grows, the skin on your tummy will stretch and tighten, which combined with dry skin, can potentially become itchy or irritated. Avoid dry and itchy skin by applying a rich and nourishing belly butter like Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter or Wild Ferns Honey Babe Mummy’s Tummy Butter.
#2 Purchase a pregnancy pillow
Sleeping can be a tough slog when you’re pregnant (usually from about 20 weeks on). You know the drill: you wake up feeling nauseous, spend the whole day on your swollen feet and just can’t wait to drop your exhausted body into bed. But then, you get there and can’t find one comfortable position. Not one. Between your sore back and heavy belly, it can feel impossible. That’s why you need a pregnancy pillow. When you lie on your side, pregnancy pillows provide support for your hips and back so you can (finally) sleep soundly.
#3 Support your sensitive breasts
Not only do your boobs get bigger (and a whole lot heavier) during pregnancy, they also get more sensitive. It’s all part of your pregnancy hormones prepping your breasts for breastfeeding but, obviously, increased tenderness isn’t comfortable. That’s why a wireless bra with soft cups and wide straps will be your best friend throughout pregnancy. Just make sure it’s still supportive, you don’t want to have to deal with breast sagging or back and shoulder pain – you’ve got enough on your plate!
Your nipples can also become extra sensitive during pregnancy. If so, try the nourishing GAIA SKIN + BODY Nipple Balm or Botáni Olivéne Repair Balm.
#4 Maternity jeans are a must-have
Every woman knows that frustrated can’t-find-anything-to-wear feeling. And the bigger your bump gets, the smaller your wardrobe becomes. The last thing you want to do is squeeze into something tight but you also don’t want to feel frumpy. The solution? Maternity clothes that are made to feel comfortable and look cute.
Get your hands on the Jeanswest Ulla Maternity Skinny ⅞ Jeans and thank us later. They’re a chic skinny leg style designed to flatter your figure. Plus, the elasticised tummy band supports and comforts your belly as it grows (and even after you’ve had the baby!). Sweating through a summer pregnancy? No need to stress, you can get maternity shorts too. The adjustable Jeanswest Emmy Maternity Hot Shorts in Ice Pink are a super-fun summer staple.
#5 Make time for a pregnancy massage
Your abdominal muscles, back, shoulders and neck can all have extra stress put on them during pregnancy and one way to alleviate the aches and pains is through pregnancy massage. Studies have shown that massages during pregnancy can be beneficial for the lymphatic system, stress hormones, muscles and blood flow. Just make sure you chat with your doctor first and go to a qualified therapist so they know where they should and shouldn’t target. beautyheaven loves endota spa Pregnancy Massage.
#6 Stock up on compression socks
Part of what helps your baby grow during pregnancy is a bunch of extra blood flowing through your body. Great for the baby! But not always great for you. The extra blood can result in swollen feet, ankles and varicose veins. So stock up on compression socks (the kind you’d wear on long haul flights) to relieve any swelling and pain.

You can get your ex back and cure your infertility problems with Dr. Odunga. When I met Dr.Odunga, my husband had divorced me because I was a barren woman of 41 and I have been married for 21 years. I was devastated and confused as a woman of my age until when I went online to look for help on how to get my marriage back then I met Dr. Odunga. Within 48 hours of contacting him, my ex husband came back home and pleaded for me to forgive him and take him back after 5 months of divorce. I accepted him back and then I told Dr. Odunga of my bareness for him to help me with child. He did the spell and sent me the natural herbs for fertility that I will use and immediately I used this medicine, I conceived. My husband got me pregnant and I gave birth to a baby girl. Presently, I am a mother of a beautiful girl and I am happy in my marriage. This is all thanks to Dr. Odunga and his wonderful work. Contact Dr. Odunga Via Whats App number +2348167159012. I have used spell casting to get my ex husband back to me and also get pregnant with twins girls through the help of a great and trusted spell caster after 12 years of marriage.
When I came online last year, I met a testimony about Priest ODUNGA who has been helping people and I decided to contact him. We spoke on email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and later he gave me his Whats App number which is +2348167159012 and he assured me he would help me get my ex husband back after 3 years of no contact. My husband left me because I was unable to give him a child for 9 years after our marriage. There was no contact between us anymore and I didn't know how to get to him. Priest Odunga is the best spell caster I must say. My husband called me after 24 hours of contacting Priest Odunga. Soon I received a herbal medicine for fertility from this man, I became fertile. I and my husband reconnected that very week, had sex and I became pregnant. Today, I am happy today to be the mother of twins girls and this is ALL THANKS TO PRIEST ODUNGA. I came online to say this If you need help, I believe you are saved with this spell caster. Contact his email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and you too will give a testimony too to help others

I really had a dream run through my pregnancy except for probably the last six weeks trying to battle the Dec/Jan heat. I used a foot spa to soothe and reduce my swollen feet and wore loose flowing dresses.

I loved being pregnant. While everyone else was complaining I was delighting in it. I found that sleeping with a pillow between my knees helped with back pain. Heartburn was a killer for me in my first pregnancy and every pregnancy I had pregnancy induced epilepsy. Im not Epileptic except when im pregnant so that took a lot to get used to. Even so I delighted in being pregnant :D

"pregnancy induced epilepsy"??? Sounds insane! Were you able to take treatment for it? I found pregnancy a horrible experience but didn't have any actual disorders/complications during it, so now I feel like a whinger, haha

bebeautiful34 No meds for it. It was just something that I had to be aware of and if I felt that funny feeling coming over me I knew to get down on the ground so i didnt fall. The big thing was not be get over tired so even though I had plans with my first to work up until she was due that didnt happen. When I was 4mths I went part time and even that only lasted a month and that was it. No more work for me. Thankfully my husband at the time was making enough that the loss of my pay wasnt an issue. Anyway...the epilepsy wasnt that bad once we knew what it was. The cool thing was that my first fit happened when i was at the hospital for a meeting so it was witnessed by nurses and I had medical help instantly. I had a few fits in my first pregnancy until i gave up work and took things easy first thing in the morning. It seemed to be mornings that would upset me. But on the upside I never suffered with morning sickness :D

I just wore leggings all the time and pants that have elastics in them.
I just ate well, make sure I had exercise everyday and didn't really do too much.
