Children's vitamins

Okay, so it’s a well-known fact that getting your kids to eat all their vegies and consume an adequate daily intake of vitamins and nutrients is as painful as pulling teeth. So it’s no surprise that more and more parents are turning to supplements to top up their children’s daily intake. But are these supplements a help or a hindrance?
Kids vitamins
With a plethora of colourful, tasty, kid-friendly supplements on the shelves these days, the vitamin industry pulls in about $1.3 billion a year – but while these child-directed products are an effective way to get your kids to take their daily dose, they shouldn’t be relied upon. Depending on supplements to give your kids proper child nutrition can make it difficult to get them to develop proper healthy eating habits later in life. The best way to get your kids to have all the necessary vitamins is with adequate child nutrition.
Child nutrition
Try to ensure your children eat a rainbow of fruit and vegies each day, use wholegrain breads and cereals instead of processed ones and pop cheese cubes and milk poppers in their school lunchboxes to top up their calcium. Giving them a supplement every so often is okay if you don’t have the time to prepare healthy, nutritious meals, but you should try not to depend on them. Prepare and freeze meals over the weekend to save yourself time during the week.
Sneaky vitamins
Puree your children’s most hated vegetables and experiment with adding them to their most loved recipes like macaroni and cheese and chocolate brownies. Vegetable purees are the perfect sneaky way to top up their vitamins and they make cookies and cakes moist and tasty and add delish-factor to any sauce. A tasty approach to child health!

Blueberries are great, they're a tad sweet yet they're great for us!

I find myself grating zucchini and carrot into a lot of our food to sneak in a few extra goodies, some quinoa flakes in their porridge too. Blueberries are amazing too, we grow them which makes the kids extra happy to eat

We can all try to be as healthy as possible and get all the needed vitamins and nutrients, but sometimes its just not possible, and thats when a daily multi vitamin comes in handy, also for the kids.
