The most trendy baby name in US history

The trendiest baby name in US history is...Linda.
Surprised? You wouldn't be the only one. These days you don't get introduced to many bubs named Linda.

Previously, FlowingData determined the trendiest baby name in US history (Catina) by looking at the quickest rises and falls in popularity. However, at its peak, Catina wasn't overly popular, comprising only 0.0097% of girls' names.
Now, David Taylor, biotechnologist and blogger, has approached 'trendy' by investigating not just the rate of a name's rise and fall, but also how intensely popular it is within that period. And voila – Linda came out on top.

In 1947, Linda skyrocketed in popularity, making up approximately 5.5% of girls' names. And it remained the most popular name for baby girls in America until 1952. Why, you ask? It’s thought Jack Lawrence’s song “Linda”, which was topping the charts in 1947, was the inspiration. The trend eventually fell off and by 1964, it was no longer in the top five most popular girls' names.
In the United States, no other baby name has trended as much as Linda did in that period. According to Taylor's research, those that have come close are Shirley, Ashley, Debra and Brittany. And the trendiest boys' names were Jason, Mark, Dewey, Grover, and Woodrow.
The most popular baby names of 2017 were wildly different. For the second year in a row, Olivia topped the girls' list and the most popular name for boys was Harvey. But it seems parents are still influenced by popular culture, with the Game Of Thrones-inspired Khaleesi making 2017's most popular list.
Were you surprised that Linda was the trendiest? How do you pick baby names?

I have used spell casting to get my ex husband back to me and also get pregnant with twins girls through the help of a great and trusted spell caster after 12 years of marriage.
When I came online last year, I met a testimony about Priest ODUNGA who has been helping people and I decided to contact him. We spoke on email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and later he gave me his Whats App number which is +2348167159012 and he assured me he would help me get my ex husband back after 3 years of no contact. My husband left me because I was unable to give him a child for 9 years after our marriage. There was no contact between us anymore and I didn't know how to get to him. Priest Odunga is the best spell caster I must say. My husband called me after 24 hours of contacting Priest Odunga. Soon I received a herbal medicine for fertility from this man, I became fertile. I and my husband reconnected that very week, had sex and I became pregnant. Today, I am happy today to be the mother of twins girls and this is ALL THANKS TO PRIEST ODUNGA. I came online to say this If you need help, I believe you are saved with this spell caster. Contact his email at (odungaspelltemple@gmail.com) and you too will give a testimony too to help others

I like the name Dewey but don't know anyone with that name except from a movie called:- Scream. Harvey is an old one there's a country music singer with that name & David + Jack are popular one's that has been around for a while.

Shirley is an old one that has been around for a while, Ashley & Olivia are popular one's, Jason & Mark are both still trendy these day's regardless of the popularity of the name's for a child it's the parents choice to name them whatever they decide.

Imagine growing up and being called Khaleesi! It sounds way too much like the Calicivirus, honestly.
