Sephora's new colour-coded shopping baskets are an introverts dream

If you're socially anxious or introverted, brick-and-mortar shopping can be a nightmare
Anyone who’s had to say “I'm just having a look” over and over again to an overly-earnest sales person knows the struggle. Either you're in a rush, you already know what you want or you could be trying to avoid a potentially anxiety-inducing interaction.
If you've ever wished you could hold up a sign that says “please leave me alone”, soon you might be able to.
Well, kind of.
A twitter user named Cami Williams was shopping at a Sephora in Europe when she saw their new colour-coded shopping system:
With nearly 250,000 likes, clearly the photo struck a chord with many twitter users echoing Cami's sentiment:
Do you think colour-coded baskets would make shopping easier?

I think it's a good idea but i'm not sure if it's that smart from a business perspective, as assistance from staff can encourage customers to make purchases that may of otherwise not . I would also get anxiety about which basket to pick aha

I LOVE THIS IDEA! I hate it when shop assistants try to be "helpful" - I know they're given instructions to approach customers, but I don't want to be bothered.

love the concept I feel so awkward when I'm makeup shopping and someone's standing near me watching every move I do I tend to feel pressured and purchase any shade of products so I don't have to be in store for long and get home and cant wear the product because its to light or to dark.

I would be interested to see if this actually improves their overall service in-store.

This image was doing the rounds a while ago... I personally think they're not a great idea but each to their own.

I do answer because I like to treat people with courtesy and respect, but still think customer service is lacking....

I think its a great idea! I hate walking into somewhere and getting the "Hi., how can I help you" the moment I walk through the door. It's so annoying... No you can't help me if I want you to I will ask.. now bye bye!

I think it might get a bit confusing for someone like me who usually wants to be left alone while browsing but then needs someone to help if I see something I like... I suppose you just have to go and grab someone at the end.

Pity Sephora in Australia is still stupidly overpriced.

I agree SAE, WA seems to miss out on these big stores. But I do like the colour coded baskets.

Yes it has, I read a news article about that store, it was becoming unsafe for the staff to work there. They were being threatened by shop lifters :-(
