Overall star rating during this trial*:
Revlon’s newest lipstick in the Colorstay range, Ultimate Suede, is a pigmented lipstick that provides all-day colour and gives lips a velvety-suede finish. Shea butter, vitamin E and aloe moisturise lips, while ColorStay technology ensures full and creamy coverage.
Trial Teamers found the lipstick applied smoothly and evenly and felt really moisturising. Once the lipstick was applied it did take on a more ‘tacky’ texture, which is just the setting in of the lipstick to give it a longer wear. After a few minutes, the lipstick felt more natural.
In terms of colour, members were impressed by the pigment and the fact it was buildable – so those with more vibrant shades could either wear one coat for a subtle effect or layer it a few times for a more punchy look. They also commented that as the lipstick faded a bit, it still left a nice colour on lips.
“When I applied, I was pleasantly surprised at the moisturised feel it gave for a ColourStay lippie. I followed directions of applying twice a day and this was enough, which I was impressed with, it really did stay on for a good approx. five hours before reapplying. When I reapplied, I just needed a little bit to refresh. It felt good on my lips all day also.” – freaky Read full review…
“The feeling of the lipstick on application is smooth, cooling and nourishing and then after a few minutes, all of a sudden the formula changes to a drier texture – that’s where the “suede” bit takes over. But still you can feel a slight tackiness, proof that it is not a “paint” drying effect. The feeling is not as comfortable as wearing a creamy formula of course but then there wouldn’t be as much staying power if it was creamy, so you can definitely feel it on your lips.” – Gofton Read full review…
“Once it has dried, or set, it feels completely weightless on your lips. I literally could not feel that I was wearing any lipstick - to the extent that each time I went to the bathroom I got a shock to see myself looking back at in the mirror with bright pink lips. And, as mentioned above, once set it just doesn't budge (so make sure you remove it quickly if you have gone out of your lipline otherwise it will stay there).” – beautystar Read full review…
“The lipstick lasted at least eight hours on my lips without touch-ups and I would say that it is definitely LONG-LASTING. After a few hours it felt slightly drying on my lips but nothing too uncomfortable and a quick application of clear lipbalm helped” - MoonlightSak Read full review…
"I like the fact that I could plant kisses on my kids and husband without leaving them the horrible lipstick stain. And I could see that my lips were still in full colour. It's a great lipwear for those who don't want to worry too much about reapplying lipstick all the time and want to wear colour. I'm very impressed at the range of colours available to suit all tastes and skintones." - von-nation Read full review...
