Inside Helen Mirren's stunning SAG Awards beauty look
Helen Mirren never fails to disappoint on the red carpet. The 75-year-old actress manages to slay any look, whether it be a bold lip, smokey eyeliner or elegant updo. And while the 2021 SAG Awards were held online this year, she still pulled out all the stops; not once, but twice.
For her first look in a long sleeve, floor-length red dress, her makeup artist Jo Strettel prepped her skin "with L’Oréal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Sunscreen, Fragrance-Free Moisturizer and Age Perfect rosy tone eye brightener" — the Australian equivelant of which would be the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Golden Age Rosy Day Cream SPF 15 and L'Oréal Paris Golden Age Rosy Eye Cream.
Helen is an ambassador for L'Oréal and so it makes sense that she would use the products she's an advocate for. Nevertheless, we still love to see what goes on behind the beauty scenes and one product that stole our attention was the foundation used for her glowing base.
"Using the Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation in ‘Natural Buff’ I placed all over face, neck and ears and buffed into skin using a buffing foundation brush to get a flawless, light and natural looking skin", her makeup artist Jo wrote on Instagram.
Serum foundations have been launching left, right and centre in 2021, but it seems this golden tube of goodness is yet to hit the Aussie shelves. It currently retails for $15.99 in the U.S., which would make it roughly $21 here in Australia — not bad for a base hybrid that contains vitamin B3 and promises all-day hydration with a radiant finish.
Here's hoping it makes it here soon, as it sounds delightful! In the meantime, if you like the sound of skin care-infused foundations, check out Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation SPF20 and Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation.
For Helen's second look, she switched to this gorgeous pink and red Badgley Mischka number. Jo kept her makeup similar, mainly switching out the nude lip from look one to a brighter berry hue.
We honestly can't decide which look is our favourite!
