    Janet Jackson gets accused of a facelift

    Red carpet diva Janet Jackson has attracted a lot of attention for her beauty look over the years – but none more so than this week, with critics accusing her of having (shock horror) a facelift.

    But her make-up artist Preston Meneses has jumped to her defence, saying her fresh look is due to his clever contouring.

    Citing “a little contouring on the cheeks”, “a wash of bronze over the eyes” and some face-flattering winged eyeliner as the reasons behind her youthful appearance, the long-term employee of the singer stressed the transformative power of make-up.

    The make-up artist (pictured with the singer, above) also drew attention to her hair (which was up in a sleek ponytail), saying “that's what causing the angle in the eyebrow” – and the resulting ‘lifted’ look.

    Personally, I’m inclined to believe the singer really is facelift-free: but either way, if I look as good as she does at 48 years old, I’ll be pretty pleased!

    She looks great. Leave her alone, if we are going to judge every celebrity of face lifts and so on, then we should judge strangers too, as i have seen even older ladies while at work with obvious botox/ fillers and ect. She looks great regardless.

    I think she looks fab - i reckon that super tight pony probably helps the face lift rumours though!

    When I first saw the articles title then looked at her face the first thing that went through my head is that her hair is pulled up tight which lifts the skin. Other than that it makes it hard to tell if she has had a face lift

    It appears to me that she did have a facelift but the contouring can be quite effective these days, so who knows!

    Janet's got some tell-tale loose skin around her jawline in the top photo. This is a natural slackness caused by ageing. Her brows are made-up, & that ponytail is tight! This is a woman with good bone structure, who has taken care of her skin, & has a personal hair & makeup staff - not surgery.

    If she didn't have a facelift recently, she probably had botox some other time. Who really cares - us normal people aren't going to look like that any day soon!!

    I think she's facelift free too - a good photo and tight pony can work wonders!
