    How-to: create the perfect day-to-night look

    These days it’s hard to find time for us girls to squeeze in one event, let alone two or three. From a day at the races with the girls, to a night on the town with your boyfriend – how do you ensure you look gorgeous from day to night?

    In actual fact, it’s quick and easy to shift your look from ‘daytime chic’ to ‘nighttime glam’ with just a few handbag essentials…

    For a clean, fresh daytime look, follow these steps before leaving the house…

    -    Start with a face primer that will provide a silky base for the skin; primers are perfect for daywear, as your make-up really has to go the distance. Next, apply a dewy foundation that isn’t too heavy. For a lightweight, natural finish we love COVERGIRL Natureluxe Silk Foundation. It’s great for a day look and will ensure your complexion stays fresh.

    -    Next apply bronzer. We love Mary Kay Mineral Bronzing Powder for its shimmer shades that add natural highlights to your face. Applying it just underneath your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose will ensure a sexy, sunkissed look.

    -    Keep eyes simple, apply a subtle gold sheen to your entire eyelid for a barely-there shot of shimmer. We like Avon True Color 24K Gold Eyeshadow Quad for its four super versatile shades. Finish off your peepers with a generous sweep of Max Factors False Lash Effect Mascara.

    As nighttime approaches, it’s time to pull out some of your evening essentials to revive your make-up look.  At this point your make-up will probably be looking a little tired, so it’s time to revamp and add a little sparkle for your night out with your man. Here’s what you’ll need in your handbag…

    Energising spritz – spray over your day make-up for a moisture burst that will leave your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed, without having to remove your day make-up. We love The Body Shops’ Vitamin C Energizing Face Spritz.

    Face powder – touch up any blotchy foundation with ease using a super silky powder foundation that you can slip into your handbag. NP Set Pasarella Powder Foundation is perfect.

    Illuminator – Add a shot of radiance to your complexion and become gorgeously glam in a flash by dabbing an illuminator over your cheekbones. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl is your go-to product.

    Smoky eyeshadow – To change your look from day to night apply a darker shade and blend into the outer corners of your eyes for a smouldering smoky eye. Natio Colourful Smokey Eye shadow Palette in Midnight Sky is a perfect combination of sexy yet subtle.

    My car's glove box used to have beauty products until I realised it wasn't hygienic having makeup sweltering in the hot sun. Now I just have a small makeup bag in my handbag.

    This look is gorgeous - I really love the eye contouring. I don't really have a night time look. I guess I'd apply more mascara and liner.

    i think i draw attention with my eyes, so if i had to go from day to night, i would always bring a black eyeshadow to create a more intense smoky sexy look. I also cant leave the house with my foundation powder and blot powder to keep my complexion looks flawless. Night time makeup is suppose to be fun and sexy!

    The energising spritz is a great idea! I always keep a cream blush with me, a little touch up on the cheeks and it gives you a glow for the night. Lip balm, touch up on eyeliner and if anything a spot of concealer and I am ready for the night again!

    I used to carry all sorts of makeup in my bag until it got too heavy so I always use primer and now my make up last nearly all day. I usually just touch up with lipstick, powder and blush.

    I agree, the best way to take your make up from day to night is either by adding a smokey eye or a bold lip...works every time!

    I have a large bag just so i can fit all my make up, i'm well known for it. Always have foundation, powder, eyeliner, mascara, lip stick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, and anything else i think i might need. Like to be prepared for the unexpected.

    I never leave home with out a good lippy in my bag. If I'm going out that night I will also carry my mascara and a eye liners so I can touch up before I go out.
