This ombre nails tutorial is a great place to start. Similar to the ombre hairstyle trend, ombre nails start with a lighter colour at the top of the nail that gradually morphs into a darker colour. It looks amazing on all nail shapes and lengths, plus it will make for an impressive Instagram photo!
Watch the video above to see how to create your own ombre nail art at-home.
What you’ll need
Nail protector stickers
1x white nail polish
2x other nail polish colours
1x makeup sponge
1x top coat
Have you tried nail art before? Will you be trying out this ombre nail art tutorial yourself?

This looks very pretty but wouldn't the sponge leave behind pitted marks? Unless the top coat fills it in?

Amazingly simple. I'm usually a one colour girl, but now keen to give this a shot.

Awesome ideas of nail art. Happy with the result but putting on too much nail paint has make my nail look lifeless. To avoid it i use olive oil to massage my nail and take care of my nail by buffing them and shaping them by Gubb World Usa Nail buffer. http://gubbworld.com/product/block-4-way-nail-buffer

Awesome, thank you for the video. I wanted red and black ombre for Halloween, my nail technician was over an hour late for my appointment and then told me it was not possible. Now I can master it myself :)

I love this look so versatile, the mind boggles with all the different colour combinations. What I like is its not expensive you don't need expensive brands to get the look.
As I'm older I would probably only do neutrals or white and silver.

I need to know where to get those nail protection stickers. I can barely apply flat colour polish without looking like a 3 year old getting into their mums makeup, but I think they would help immensely.

This actually looks easier than I thought it would be. But question, wouldn't the nail be a bit bumpy because of the sponge effect? Has anyone tried? :)

Using a wet makeup sponge makes this technique a lot easier (and stops bits of sponge sticking to your nails!) :*)
