Easy ways to dress up a nude nail

Nude nails aren’t as attention-seeking as red or blue or purple. They’re the nail shade that’s happy to sit in the corner and look pretty while letting something else take centre stage.
But sometimes, just sometimes, we want our nude nails to be noticed a little bit more. To not fade into the background so much. And there are three super-easy, no-fuss ways to do exactly that without comprising the subtle beauty of the soft hue.
Layer the colour
See how beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s nails looked at the Oscars? Celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees painted her nails with one coat of Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Mudslide, then followed it with two coats of Complete Salon Manicure in Shell We Dance. The darker shade underneath gives the nude a bit more pizazz and oomph. Just keep in mind that a brown-based nail colour will suit a nude overcoat best.
Use nail art
Another way to make a nude nail sing is to use some simple nail art. Fing’rs Edge Nail Art pack comes with four sheets of different designs – from small beads to prints of hearts and skulls. So you can amp up your neutral nail however you please!
Try a statement nail
A statement nail will… well, it’s all in the name, isn’t it? Apply a nail sticker on one finger on each hand to make your nails stand out without looking too OTT. Vixen Nailed It 3D Nail Wraps in Leopard will give your statement nail a striking animal-print finish while the black and gold won’t be too drastic a contrast.
Do you ever wear nude nails? How do you make them stand out?

I have sort of yellowy blonde hair, a bit like Rosie's colour, so I tend to go for these neutral nail colours as well, as it doesn't clash with my natural colouring for everyday wear. I like the way it doesn't stand out and look garish at all. I don't mind stand out colours for some things (like the beach, Chrissy or parties) but this nude shade I could wear anywhere, everywhere and anytime without feeling overdone. I love it! If I'm in a funky mood I can wear the most outlandish colours though and feel comfortable with it too. Nail polish colour can be such a mood thing with me I think.

I hardly ever wear a nude nail, though I do like light pastels.

I love nude nails- it's important that they are not exactly the same colour as your skin otherwise it looks a bit strange, I love nude pink colours on me :)

I don't like those nails at all. They look old and dead

Didn't think I'd be a fan of the nude nail, but they look gorgeous here. I think the trick is getting the right shade.

This is a little too boring for me. I need bright colours on my hips.

Love nude nails, for me I paint a shiny top coat over them despite usually liking more matte nails. This is because nudes can pull of the shiny nail while bright colours are enough on their own without gauzy shine.

I used to only wear nude nails because I was afraid of bright colours. I would dress it up with rings or bracelets but now I just wear my bright shades loud and proud
