The best nude nail polishes for neutral lovers

A truly good nude nail polish can be hard to come by, but once you've found 'the one' it'll be with you for years. And because there are more pink to beige shades on the shelves than you could ever hope to work your way through, we've helped narrow it down to nine magnificent neutrals. Now, who’s due for a mani?

RELATED: What your next mani should be according to your star sign
#1 essie Nail Color in 'Ballet Slippers'
Why we love it: A pale, sheer pink. Two coats deliver a subtle pink hue that lets your nails’ natural colouring peek through. It's been the Queen's go-to shade for years, and if it's good enough for Liz...
($14.95, Priceline)
#2 Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in 'Naked Ambition'
Why we love it: A nude polish with peachy undertones. This shade looks insanely good on those with olive skin tones.
#3 OPI in 'Mod About You'
Why we love it: An opaque light pink. Perfect for a mani that even Barbie would be jealous of.
#4 Revlon Classic Nail Enamel in 'Elegant'
Why we love it: This hue gives your nails a sheer wash of taupe. With slight grey undertones, this shade is fantastic for those with darker skin. It also looks great layered with a high-shine topcoat.
#5 Mavala Switzerland Nail Polish in '90 Arosa'
Why we love it: A peachy cream in just two coats. If you're after a chic, goes-with-every-outfit shade, look no further.
#6 Ulta 3 Nail Polish in 'Crème Brulee'
Why we love it: Apply two coats for a creamy beige shade. Your nails will look good enough to eat!
#7 Rimmel London Super Gel Nail Polish by Kate in 'New Romantic'
Links: A bright, but not overbearing, bubblegum pink. The long-wearing formula lasts almost as long as gel polish! Now that’s impressive.
#8 OPI in Samoan Sand
Why we love it: A beige polish that provides a natural-nail-but-better colour. Apply three coats for the best results.
#9 SinfulColors Nail Enamel Cream in 'Easy Going'
Why we love it: An opaque pastel pink that especially suits fair skin tones. It makes for a great bridal nail shade too.

Great colours - I'd add Rimmel 60 Second Nail polish in Caramel Cupcake to that list. A lovely neutral, nude pinky brown.

Might have to try the mavala arosa and/or opi Samoan sand. I like the look of those colours. The others all still look a bit unnatural to me.

Ballet slippers is such a classic colour but I find Essie nail polish is to be really streaky.
