Summer hair trend predictions

Spring is here! And you know what that means – summer is just around the corner! <Cue whooping, cheering and big, Cheshire cat-like smiles>
If, like me, your look is stuck firmly in the dark and dreary winter months, don’t fret (or splurge on a new wardrobe) – just update your hair colour! It’s the easiest, most effective way to feel completely ready for summer. Plus, with some pretty amazing new colour technology from Wella Professionals and a bucketload of summer trends to choose from, you’re bound to find the perfect lightened look for you, no matter your hair colour.
Check out four of the biggest summer hair trend predictions:
Beach spray/Balayage
Though it was recently rumoured to be going out of fashion, balayage (or ‘beach spray’, which it has been affectionately coined) is back bigger and better than ever. Are we really that surprised? With ambassadors like Olivia Wilde and Brooklyn Decker making it look so beachy and irresistible – on two totally different hair colours, no less – it’s a winner! To do it, you need the right blonde hue and style for you. Wella Professional BLONDOR Freelights is a new in-salon highlighting service that allows you to get up to seven levels of sunkissed lift, so you can find the perfect, beach-ready hue for the ends of your locks.
Blonde-lights
If you’re already blonde and simply want to ‘perk-up’ your look, highlights are the way to go. Subtle and sophisticated, the right shade of lighter blonde can effectively lift your look and give it a new dimension, a la Kristen Bell. Wella Professional BLONDOR Freelights uses a freehand highlighting technique, which eliminates the need for traditional foils and achieves a natural-looking, even application. Ask your stylist to help you choose the right blonde shade to complement your existing blonde hue and make sure they lighten a few pieces around your face for a feminine finish.
Barely there lights
If, like Keira here, you’re keen to add a few summer-ready highlights but don’t want to change up your colour too much, the barely there look is best for you. This technique keeps your highlights relatively subtle, except for when they catch the light. This look is especially beautiful when you’re rocking girly waves, just like Keira. Wella Professional BLONDOR Freelights is the ticket to getting this look, as the formula is made with polymers that connect together to create what’s called the Actifuse Network. This network makes the formula flexible and adhesive so it won’t spread or blend onto other strands of hair once applied. In other words, you don’t have to worry about ending up lighter than you’d like!

Brown-lights
Not a fan of the dramatic blonde and brown two-tone effect? Then be inspired by Anna Kendrick and go for ombré using a lighter brown hue. Not only will this look more natural, it’s also a great way for ladies with very dark locks to get a summery lift without going over the top. Wella Professional BLONDOR Freelights can tailor a colour that complements your current hue, and it’s suitable for use on both natural and pre-coloured hair. The best bit? Its flexible mixture means the stylist can apply as much or as little as you like in order to achieve your desired intensity.

The warmer shade on Keira suits her so Much more than her usual very cool tone of darker brown. I really love the curls over one shoulder dos on the other ladies - I wear this hairstyle occasionally and I absolutely love it!

I'm really not a fan of the 'Balayage' ... it looks like a bad re-growth problem with dried ends that are in need of a trim to me. I'll be pleased to se it go! Just saying...
