Wondering what your favourite natural beauty brands are (skin, hair, makeup etc).
Starting to change my perspective on my beauty products
I like Sukin Super Greens face scrub.
Shea moisture, Sukin and A'kin for hair. (different products from their ranges, I like to mix things up.) I've eliminated silicones, sulphates and other nasties from my haircare products.
Jane Iredale make-up is great.
I also use A'kin age defy eyecream and Kosmea Rosehip oil.
I think you often need to read the ingredients list on products that claim to be 'natural' they often have artifical fragrances and other unnatural ingredients.
I use a lot of Sukin products for my face and body and also like Swisse skin care products. Also love that they are Australian made.
My fav natural brands are Antipodes, Grown Alchemist and Kosmea.
I switched to skin care with less synthetic ingredients when Jurlique and Kosmea came onto the market (Jurlique was founded in 1985). I have used a high volume of skin care products from many brands, but I do not have a favourite brand. I think that each brand has one or several hero/signature products in their range that are really great . The rest of their products are good, average or not so good. The same goes for hair products and cosmetics. I also love trying new products, often from less well-known brands. I rarely buy the same products apart from some that I keep going back to. For instance, I buy a variety of rosehip oils from different brands, but I often will go back to rosehip oil from Kosmea or Pai.
I used to love A'kin hair products, but they reformulated some of them a while ago and I don't buy them as much as before. This is because many of them now contain protein, an ingredient which can make my hair feel more dry and even brittle. I still think that A'kin make great hair products.
Cosmetics with less synthetic ingredients are another story. I remember a time when these types of products were of poor quality and lacked pigmentation. These days, companies are making some great quality natural-based products that are just as good as their synthetic counterparts. My favourite cosmetics with less synthetics are from Jane Iredale, Eye of Horus, 100% Pure, Lily Lolo, Bite Beauty (there are probably more, but I can't think of them right now).
If someone wanted to switch to natural-based skin care and they were on a budget, a good starting point would be Sukin, Antipodes, A'kin and Trilogy. These brands are easily available in Priceline and often are on sale.
Jurlique and Trilogy are my long-time faves. I've more recently been enjoying Andalou Naturals and Weleda. Sukin is also a good budget option though I'd have to say their products are not my preferred ones. I also diy a lot of skin/body care with ingredients like shea butter and oils. Makeup wise, I find natural products aren't anywhere near as effective, except Jane Iredale is really good.
These are all the natural beauty brands I've tried, with varying degrees of success:
SKIN CARE (including body & hands)
That's all I can think of for now. I'll add to this list as more brands spring to mind.
This is great! thanks so much. Few brands ive heard of and a few i havent so this is amazing :)
Really like Natio they have a lot of natural Skincare Products and they are very reasonably priced as well. Like Vitamin E creams.
Have lovely Makeup as well.
I support Natio as well, Margi59. I'm currently using daily moisturiser SPF50+; Ageless illuminating primer; eye contour treatment gel; under eye concealer/illuminator; blush/bronzer palette; mascara and the chamomile and rosewater toner. I also like their shower gels and body products.
onlyoni Love Natio Ageless Primer as well have used many of there products they are very good for your money.
Rosehip Plus is my favourite for skin care...
Natio have some great products in skincare, make-up, haircare and even pet care!
Nude by nature have great range of natural make up too! I also like some of the products in the Blessed by Nature range and Sukin as well!
Not as much a product as it is a DIY natural recipe! A hair mask for stronger hair:
Portions depending on how long and thick your hair is. I have very long, thick hair and for me generally it's 2-4 tablespoons of each oil. half an avocado and 2x egg whites.
Leave it in for about half an hour... be very careful when rinsing, your hair will feel sticky and crunchy at first because the product dries up... but once you've washed it out and conditioned, your hair will feel completely different.
I love Nude for Nature and RAWW. I also use coconut and rose hip oil.
I'm a Dr Roebuck's skincare fan. The products are simple but effective. I also like Sukin and I am currently trying some Antipodes serums. So far so good. As for makeup, I haven't found anything better than Bare Minerals. I also like Bite Beauty lip products.
Works really well. Clears up my skin really well. I bought it from Priceline Pharmacy as I could not find it at Coles where I usually get it.
This light creamy serum is an absolute delight and comes in a medium-sized thin narrow tube. Under the lid, there is a pump from which the serum can be dispensed.
This perfume oil is comprised of an all-natural essential oil blend and it is quite strong but the scent is calming and soothing.
