I'm not sure if I would put spices on my face but make my own lipbalm with beeswax, It lasts longer and feels better than many store bought lipbalms. I often get aloe vera from my garden and use it in hair masks.
Spices like nutmeg and cinnamon do a great job.

Turmeric has become a trendy spice in products recently. I'm using a body oil that has turmeric in it (apart from other botanicals) at the moment, and I'm not a fan of the scent. I'd rather have turmeric in a curry!

I am a big fan of using kitchen ingredients for masking and my favourite is the gram flour (chickpea flour) mask. I use chickpea flour, and add a bit of milk/ yogurt/ water (depending on how my skin is feeling that day), a tsp of honey and a pinch of turmeric. It helps me get rid of tan, control blemishes (avoid yogurt if your skin is acne-prone) and get a glowing skin. If you have dry skin, make sure to add honey else your skin will dry out further. I keep it on for 15 - 20 minutes before washing it off.
