Hi , what do you use today to dilute the nail polish when it gets too thick to use? I haven't seen any acetone in the shops.Any tips ?
Seche Vite has a product specifically for this, it's a thinner for nail polish, I think it's called 'Restore' or something like that. It does definitely help to prolong the use of thick or gluggy nail polishes in my experience!
I second Restore, but I find it works best with the Quick Dry Top Coat that Seche Vite sells.
Acetone ( nail polish remover)works well as well. Add bit by bit so you don’t add too much.
Use a proper nail polish thinner, not an acetone nail polish remover, to help thin out your polish. OPI have one, which I'm currently trying to finish up. It's quite good & you don't need very much to thin out your polishes - 2 or 3 drops at the most.
Oh cool! I’ve never heard of that before. Where do you buy it?
You can find it anywhere where OPI is stocked. Surely Myer & David Jones would have a bottle of it. If not, then you can find it at a beauty supply store. If you're in Sydney, SA Hair & Beauty Supplies inside the Dymocks Building has it.
Hi and thank you for your answers.I used acetone in the past ,but I didn't find it any more in the shops.I will try one of the nail polish thinners :-)
You can still purchase acetone from hardware stores. Not too far from the paint section last time I looked for it.
Hi Elunia ,you made me laugh.I never thought that the hardware store will become my beauty needs supplier. But I 'll keep an eye open :)
I think you can only buy acitone in one litre bottles! ;)
They are not small :)
The last one I bought was 500mL
I also used acetone nail polish remover to thin my several bottles of nail polish and I also mixed the colours together to get a full bottle as it was so difficult to get the bottom of each bottle. I didn't realise that we can't buy acetone nail polish remover anymore at the supermarket, which is really disappointing as the acetone free nail polish remover does not remove the polish as effectively except when using the gel polishes. Ah, the changes for the better! or are they making our life more testing?
Great tips, it's hard when the polish is too thick. Takes longer to dry.
daiso sells nail polish thinner. I have used it and it’s really good.
if you’re looking for acetone, w7 brand at chemist warehouse have a nail polish remover that contains only acetone and water.
I have been using this brow mascara for years now, and am still in love with it! I use it all the time, especially when I am in a rush, and need to do my brows fast!
This is the first time I tried Blessed by Nature Face Cream . I have tried their cleanser before and I'm pretty much convinced the smells will always be refreshing.
I have the matte lipstick in the shade pink plaid which is a beautiful matte pink shade with mauve undertones, when applied looks very retro, and is pretty long lasting.
