What is a nice fragrance to wear to a wedding that is going to be held in spring time ?
I think it comes down to individual taste really, but spring calls for flowers and fresh scents! Wedding ones I would wear would be Estee Lauder's beautiful, ellie saab le parfum intense, lancome poeme..just naming a couple. Floral but classy.
A mild floral fragrance would do you no wrong! My older sister wore Byredo's Rose of No Man's Land to hers, but Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell's is equally as lovely. Something without any spices e.g cumin would be best since it can seem a bit stanky.
Thank you :)
I think Jadore by Dior and Miss Dior are wonderful and classy to wear on any occasion.
Hi, christinac: whichever fragrance you wear, remember that you'll be in a roomful of people in formal dress - probably every woman will be wearing perfume, so apply lightly!
Thank you !
Oh, I see now that you're a forum newbie, christinac!
I second Estee Lauder Beautiful, or Pure White Linen. They are really classy and not overpowering.
Tresor is lovely too, I have always liked it
I'm really in love with Jo Malone lately. My favourite is Wood Sage and Sea Salt, but I recently got the Orange Blossom and it's divine. Reminds me of frangipani, but there is a Jo Malone frangipani cologne as well.
Love the sound of Jo Malone, anything, Ethelinde, but the Orange Blossom sounds perfect and also perfect for a wedding.
Definitely steer clear of anything with lavender - lavender is one of my favourite fragrances BUT lots of people have a nasty reaction to anything lavender.
Agree totally with misfortune8, apply sparingly. It wouldn't be the first time I've had to leave somewhere because of other people's perfumes.
Welcome to the forums, christinac.
I select fragrances predominantly for myself but I am also conscious of how it would be received, particularly by the opposite sex. Only one little spritz is enough and I definitely do not douse. Also, it is worthwhile knowing where the selective chakra points are on your body and focus on those areas. A little vaseline/balm as a base primer makes any perfume last just that bit longer and creates a barrier between your skin and the alcohol content in some perfume. Jo Malone colognes have a longevity problem but they can be manipulated in this way to last just a bit longer or so it is only a whisp that lingers (which is sort of what I prefer and go for).
I stopped wearing perfume for the longest time because I had a preference to be neutral particularly in the workplace, but I've come to appreciate it again lately because wearing it again reminded me that it can be a powerful communicator in the same way your body language betrays something about your personality. It unconsciously creates an impression about a person without you uttering a single word, and in some cases, particularly in social situations like a wedding, this can be a powerful communicator. People do not remember what you say over time, but they remember how you smelt and how you made them feel.
If you're single like myself, I'll just add this: men love the scent of (predominantly) vanilla, ylang-ylang, orange, jasmine, lavender, wood and leather. ;)
mor marshmallow.... the best gentle and feminine
Hard question as perfumes smell different on everyone but my 2 faves that are lovely during spring (or any time really!) are Dior Addict 2 also known as Eau Fraiche (The pink bottle) and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.
Works really well. Clears up my skin really well. I bought it from Priceline Pharmacy as I could not find it at Coles where I usually get it.
This light creamy serum is an absolute delight and comes in a medium-sized thin narrow tube. Under the lid, there is a pump from which the serum can be dispensed.
This perfume oil is comprised of an all-natural essential oil blend and it is quite strong but the scent is calming and soothing.
