Men prefer women who wear high heels

Flats may be totally on-trend, but a new study from France shows that when it comes to seducing the opposite sex, high heels have the advantage.
The findings may not come as a huge surprise (in fact, many bh ladies can vouch for the power of the stiletto), but this is the first scientific study to actually test the effect of sky-high heels.
How, you ask? Well, psychologist Dr. Nicolas Guéguen asked four females to alternate between wearing flats, two-inch and four-inch heels and record their interactions with unfamiliar men.
In one experiment, the women stood on the street and asked passing blokes to complete a survey. When the women wore flats, just 25 out of 60 men (42 per cent) agreed to stop and take it – but when they upgraded to two-inch heels, the number increased to 36 of 60 men (60 per cent).
Just a coincidence, right? Wrong, because that number rose to 49 out of 60 men (82 per cent) when the women wore the four-inchers.

It turns out Victoria Beckham was onto something (she even wears hers on the treadmill)!
Still not convinced? Well, consider Guéguen’s next Gatsby-esque experiment, where the four women were instructed to drop a glove on the street and note how many men retrieved it..
The same pattern emerged, with men picking up the glove about 62 per cent of the time when the participants wore flats, but an overwhelming 93 per cent of time when they wore high heels.”¨”¨As to why high heels have this power over men, Guéguen gave a pretty predictable explanation: stilettos simply make us more attractive to the opposite sex.
"High heels were associated with greater sexiness, overall physical attractiveness, breast attractiveness, beauty, attractiveness to other men, and willingness for a date," he told The Huffington Post.

Do you think high heels influence the way men perceive women?

I'm a short person so wearing hills we're my everyday reality for decades. Back problems made it impossible for me for last few years. I still miss my hills, wish I could wear them. Hills look good, make even average legs look good.

High Heels, Oh I miss being able to wear the stiletto heels I wore when I was much younger, with short skirts, jeans, party dresses, they just made the statement.
As we get older anything that makes us look sexy can be nice, but we must take a look at the big picture in the mirror before we go out thinking we look great.
Of course men think most women wearing high heels look sexy, it makes the legs look longer, but also, the ladies must have the nice legs to gain that certain complement.
Think about your choices when choosing high heels too, the damage that it can cause your feet in the long run. Toes damaged by being pinched in too tight shoes, arches out of shape, even leg muscles and ligaments damaged if your shoes are not comfortable to start with. Sadly, unless you spend a lot of money on good quality shoes, the cheaper variations do long lasting damage.
I sill love my high heels though.

I love the look of wearing heels! From a male perspective, I think it depends on the individual in general.

I have a physical impairment affecting my right limbs so I can't wear them.
I am ultra short at 5' and my hubby is 6'.
Glad he prefers flats but even if he didn't, so what?

I absolutely love heels, but I end up wearing flats all the time so that I can get more walking done during the day.

This is true.
Prince loved heels but ultimately did his hips in wearing them performing his stage antics.
He required such strong pain killers and were these that ultimately killed him!

I admit High Heels looks wonderful, gorgeous, very feminine and sexy but common sense says, wear flats more often or you'll regret it when you are older.

I cant wait for WHS to come in and stop the use of heels in the workplace all together. The amount of women who have gotten their stilettoes stuck in a grate is ridiculous. I'm tall and I choose not to wear them because I will end up with further knee issues. The dawdling other women do, infuriates me, they shout from the roof tops equality... But when you take twice as long if not longer to regular perform duties, no wonder we are still stuck.

For me, heels are downright uncomfortable. I wore them every day for about 20 years before coming to my senses and deciding comfort was more important than looking taller or sexier.

I find this okay if you are short lol. I am 5 foot 10 inches (178 cm) tall. Me in high heels makes most men feel intimated as I tower over most men anyhow. I am happily married so unless it was a date night or anniversary I will be sticking to my flats. :)

I love high heels, but they do get a little painful overtime, especially thinner heels compared to thicker ones.
