In a couple of days my feet were feeling so much better from the dry, cracked and sore way they were. They were more supple, the split heel sores were no longer hurting as they gradually closed up. My feet were also starting to look and feel more acceptable to wear out in sandals or thongs.

I am always sceptical when a beauty or skin care products boosts claims such as "produces visible results within a day" - so I wasn't convinced that Dermal's heel balm was going to be the miracle cure that it claimed for cracked and dry heels. However, after just one night (and now after having used it for a full week), I am definitely a convert.

This is my go-to when my feet get dry and on the verge of cracked - it's hard to find as it's often out of stock, and I know why! It really will give noticeable results quickly - I've tried several other "heavy duty" cracked heel balms and this is the only one that gives me the results I need to be able to wear open shoes.

It is a thick cream and it absorbs quickly when applied, without feeling very greasy. I normally apply it at night and put socks on over it to really lock it in. It feels luxurious and I find applying it once a day is fine.

I have tried Dermal Therapy's regular heel balm and have really enjoyed it, so I figured when the product has the word platinum tags onto it, then it must be the next level. And I was absolutely correct - it really is the next level in feet care. This heel balm has a highly concentrated formula with 30% Urea. It promises results that are visible in just one day and amazingly it delivers just that. Even better still - I felt my feet becoming softer and smoother literally as soon as I applied and rubbed the balm into the skin. It was an instantaneous effect!

The balm is quite thick in consistency and you do not need a lot of it to cover the in entire foot (yes, I know it is meant to be a heel balm, but I was not going to let that stop me from having silky arches and toes!). It does have a very distinct scent, but it is not overpowering and as I used it more, I actually started to really enjoy it.

Never thought I'd ever love a heel balm but I really do think this one does wonders for dry feet. I've never let mine go really dry, cracked and painful but I go in with this when I notice the skin on my feet peeling. I tend to get dry on the bottom of my big toe, balls of my feet and the bottom of my heel. I apply the tiniest amount of this onto those areas and will notice the next day that the skin is no longer peeling. Continue with it for a couple more days and your feet will be back to being soft and smooth.

My mum does have really dry cracked feet though and she says this is the best heel balm she's tried (and she's tried them all!). It doesn't work as quickly for her so she tries to use it everyday to not let her feet get to the really dry and cracked stage.

There is also no scent. It's just a pleasant sort of cream smell.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has had dry/cracked feet issues. It's thick too so I like to put it on right before bed with a pair of socks, then in the morning, it's like magic!

The product comes in a manly looking stubby 75g tube with a screw on cap, and is housed in a clinical looking box.

The product is non greasy and is clinically tested. It's white in colour, and is very thick in consistency. Like a paste. A little goes a long way, but does take a while to dry. I would advise putting on a pair of old socks so you don't have to stay sitting down with your feet up. It eventually turns into a powdery finish.

This is great if you have a build up of hard, thick skin you want gone!
It's extremely moisturising and eliminates the dryness of heels (and all of the bottom of my feet) straight away upon application.
After using it for a few days, the hard and thick skin starts to just disappear.
Skin is smooth and soft and very hydrated.

Once I stopped using this, the hard skin started to return.
I recommend continual use or maintaining smooth feet with other tools once you've reached your required level of softness.
