Surprising beauty inspiration: 'The Hunger Games'
Going in to see The Hunger Games, I expected to see a bit of blood and gore. What I didn’t expect was to be inspired. Yep, as the credits rolled, all I could think about was all the beauty looks that I needed to try (and of course, pass on to you guys).
Plaits, plaits, and more plaits.
We’ve told you before, and we’ll tell you again – plaits are in, in BIG way. And The Hunger Games showed us more plaits than we could ever dream of trying - from super-cute over-the-shoulder braids and plaited pigtails, to braided buns and quirky up-‘dos. There’s no limit to how you can wear a plait, and just to help you out, we’ve got the how-to’s to get you started – the vine braid, the waterfall braid, the Rapunzel braid.
Who knew Lenny Kravitz would be the one to inspire us to try a little gold eyeliner? The look is so simple, yet so effective. And if you’re looking to try it yourself, get your hands on Jane Iredale Liquid Eyeliner in Gold Liquid. Not only will you have a glimmering, drool-worthy eye look, but the essential oils in the formula will nourish your skin and prevent your lids from drying.
Ah, to live in a world where we could wear weird and wacky lashes all day, every day. While we loved the out-there feathered lashes featured in the movie, there was no getting past Katniss’ subtly-enhanced flutter. To give your lashes a lot of volume, try Revlon Lashes Fantasy Lengths Dramatic 3X Volume Lashes. And if you’re after some quirky fake lashes to make you stand out, Manicare glameyes Avant-Garde Dark Angel Lashes are sure to do the trick.
