bh members get a lesson in teeth whitening

Would you say you’ve got a good handle on basic dental hygiene? Like, you can brush your teeth, floss and all that jazz with minimal hiccups?
Well, sometimes we think we know more than we actually do, which is why we asked Colgate and its dentist Dr. Sue to come to our recent Beauty Degustation.
Dr. Sue sat with our members and explained the best ways to brush, floss and whiten at home – all with the help of her handy-dandy mouth mould and a few products from the Colgate Optic White range. She also went on to discuss at-home whitening with our members and shared some insights on how the Colgate Optic White products, including the new Colgate Optic White Express White, compare to spending the big bucks on professional treatments.
Members were also invited to discuss their dental issues or concerns – and as it turns out, when you take away the fear of the dentist chair, people are pretty open!
Check out what the bh members had to say about Colgate Optic White Express White:
“After the very first brush, I saw a subtle difference in my tooth colour, and after two weeks, my teeth are three shades whiter. It is important to realise that three shades whiter is still quite a subtle change. At the degustation event, the dentist had a tooth colour wheel which showed us what three shades of whitening would look like.”– Ingrid82
“I've been using this for about two weeks now and have to say, my teeth do look a bit whiter than before. I was a little skeptical at first (whiter in three days!?) and while it may have taken a bit longer than three days, my teeth do look a bit brighter. On the second day, I noticed quite a bit of discolouration in the water when I rinsed out my mouth, so perhaps that was when it was getting rid of most of the tea, coffee and chocolate stains.” - SusanJane
“Colgate Optic White toothpaste has been on the market for a while, but this new Express White formula contains twice the amount of whitening ingredient than its predecessor. I'd urge anyone who has tried the previous formula to give this one a go, as well as any new users. Some will notice more of a difference than others. I do drink coffee (no more than a cup a day and not every day) and anything that may prevent discolouration from coffee is most welcome!” – Kassalee
“As a regular coffee drinker, I try to use a whitening toothpastes by Colgate as it helps to keep my pearly whites looking good. To be honest, I did not think I would get results so fast, but sure enough I noticed a difference around day three. My teeth looked whiter and any spots seemed reduced.” – CarrieDee
“I drink tea and eat my own pure chocolate almost every day, so this toothpaste is perfect for my teeth. I LOVE that it has 'enamel-safe fluoride toothpaste' written on the front of the tube because it reassures me that my precious teeth enamel won't be damaged - which is my main concern when it comes to whitening products.” – softness

I have tried the Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste just on it's own and it didn't whiten my teeth at all unfortunately.

This would have been a wonderful event. I like teeth whitening toothpaste, use it regularly because I am a coffee drinker. I have tried the Optic White range and think it does a good job for a toothpaste.

I have the original Optic White toothpaste but I rarely use it as I'm concerned about the enamel on my teeth. I might have to ask my dentist about it one day.

I was on the sample panel for a UK tooth whitening brand Rigel strips. They worked the best of any I've tried. They actually taste good and they come in a clutch friendly small travel package.

lol RayJay! I just noticed your post about the chocolate. (I mix 1 cup Wild Harvest Coconut Oil melted with 1 cup of pure Cocoa powder in a saucepan on gentle heat. I then mix in a teaspoon of organic vanilla and 2 tablespoons of organic honey and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. If it's not sweet enough you can add another 2 tablespoons of organic rice malt syrup and a little cinnamon. Mix this altogether thoroughly and pour into little chocolate moulds. Put in fridge and eat whenever you feel like it.) Hope this helps RayJay! : )

hmmm I might give the express a go! I wasn't a fan of the original optic it tasted kind of weird? I also remember it left a strange taste in my mouth i ended up giving up on it! So it will be interesting to see how this one differs.
