A natural beauty routine

There are many reasons why people love using natural beauty products.
For bh’s Janet, they’re just a better match for her skin: “I find that products with fewer ingredients seem to make my skin more comfortable. I try to avoid using products with sulphates and parabens because they make my skin feel dry and itchy.”
And bh’s glowing mum-to-be, Laina, decided to head in the natural direction when she got pregnant: “I've not only been conscious of eating natural foods, but also using beauty products with the same qualities. I love that natural products are gentle on my sensitive pregnancy skin, and I like knowing I’m not inadvertently exposing myself to any harmful ingredient that might find its way to my bub.”
If you’re an au naturel addict or are keen to jump on the bandwagon, here’s a complete beauty routine to try.
HAIR
Wash:
Natures Organics Organic Care Dry Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner
“My hair is left well moisturised and my curls defined. It has a very pleasant, fruity aroma. I love that it is free from parabens and petrochemicals. The ingredients are plant-based, cruelty-free, vegan and safe for grey water.” -JaneyPooh
Style:
Seven Wonders Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment
“My hair just absolutely loves this and soaks it up. You only need a few pumps to smooth out your hair. It completely removes any frizz and the lengths of my hair seems to be more shiny and nourished.” - Beckky
Colour:
NaturStyle Permanent Hair Colour
“I have only coloured my own hair a handful of times over the years (as I have always left it to a professional), but after using NaturStyle I will be doing it myself from now on. I really liked that when it was applied, there was no heavy chemical smell.” - sassylily
SKIN
Cleanse:
“Oh, how I love, love, love this product! It’s so affordable and perfect for my skin. It’s creamy but not heavy and it smells so fresh.” – Jocelyn105
Tone:
“This is the second time that I've bought this. It's a gorgeous, lightweight mist that I use as a toner. You can also use it as a make up spray to help get rid of excess powder.” – sprinkles37
Moisturise:
Aveda Botanical Kinetics Energizing Eye Crème and Intense Hydrating Soft Crème
This powerful pair nourish and hydrate the skin. The liquorice root and plant-derived caffeine in the eye cream work to reduce puffiness and brighten skin.
BODY
Exfoliate:
Puretopia Glowingly Smooth Exfoliating & Renewing Body Polish
“This is one of the best body exfoliators I have found. The small granules buff away dead skin cells gently, without been too harsh or leaving skin feeling stripped and dry.” - kathrynn
Wash:
A'kin Aromatherapy Orange Blossom Body Wash
“This is one of my favourite body washes. It’s very refreshing, awakening and energising. It’s really gentle on the skin and a little goes a long way.” - Soosh
Moisturise:
St. Ives Naturally Soothing Body Lotion
“I have really sensitive, eczema-prone skin and this lotion is great for my body. It’s moisturising and soothing, and has a pleasant scent. It doesn't leave an oily residue on my skin, either.” - mileenacatalog
MAKE-UP
Foundation:
La Mav Anti-Ageing Mineral Foundation SPF15
Its sun protection, anti-ageing ingredients and water-resistant formula makes sure this mineral foundation is a step ahead of the rest.
Concealer:
jane iredale Circle/Delete Concealer
“I love the smooth consistency of this concealer, and the way it glides on. And I love that it's actually good for your skin, with all its vitamins and oils.” - Bwoods
Blush:
“This blush has amazing pigmentation. I only need the smallest ever amount for both my cheeks. The colour is really nice and it lasts a decent amount of time.” –Maria680
Eyes:
Inika Mineral Mascara and Organic Eyeliner
If you can’t bear the thought of parting with your super-pigmented mascaras and eyeliners, you’ll be pleased to know these two natural alternatives pack a serious colour punch.
Lips:
“The formula lasts for hours and makes my lips feel soft and supple. The colour is so great too – really good pigmentation.” – Lana Lang

I've only bought natural skin care products for about twenty years, and I've just bought some Inika makeup. As for the St Ives product in this blog post, I would not call it natural as it contains mineral oil, triethanolamine, synthetic dyes etc.
