Is this the ideal bedtime?

What time did you go to bed last night? Were you down and out by 9pm? Or scrolling through Instagram until 1am?
Well, either way, you may want to adjust your sleeping patterns because according to wellness expert Shawn Stevenson, the optimal bedtime for better vitality, skin and hair is 10pm.
His reasoning? Our bodies and minds work best when we follow the natural patterns of the sun rising and setting.
But I’m not entirely sure where daylight savings fits into this - does it mean we need to head to bed really early in winter? Or just at 9pm since we’re minusing an hour?
I still have so many questions, Shawn!
I guess the only way we’ll know for sure if this bedtime works is to trial it. So while I may not have the answer about daylight savings, I can tell you Shawn’s top tips for getting to bed by 10pm:
- Stop looking at electronic devices at 8pm.
- Work out early in the day (even if it’s just for 10 minutes).
- Avoid caffeine, sugar and dairy during the second half of your day.
What time do you usually go to bed? Does your bedtime affect your mood?

I know that I shouldn't, but I am at my laptop way past 8pm - quite often I am on beautyheaven.

I tell my kids they can't be on it after 8pm, because they have trouble falling asleep but also gives them nightmares sometimes.

I need way more than I get. I wake up tired, regardless.

Hahà a this is my life every night; in bed by 11pm but on my phone until maybe 3 am!! Don't like doing it but it's out of bored when I don't feel tierd. I would like to follow these tips but 10pm is too early for me.i agree with stopping the caffeine half way during the day.

I wish I could go to bed earlier, but by the time I do the dinner, clean up, bath and put my toddler down and finally have a shower myself, tidy up and get into bed it's usually 9-9.30 and then I like to have some downtime myself, by the time I look at the clock it's like 1am !!!!

My fridge woke me up last night with lots of weird beepings! I still have to suss it out properly but I think the light inside the fridge carked it and that was what it was all about. This interrupted my beautiful sleep! The night before I was having weird strong dreams and so it was not a good night either. Luckily I get to bed around 9pm and so these midnight crazy things don't wreck my energy the next day!

I normally go to bed between 10-11:30pm. I try to sleep earlier during the colder months so that it's easier to get up in the morning.
