Tips on exfoliating

Feel like your skin is a bit too dry and flaky, regardless of how often you moisturise your body? Well, it could be that you’re missing out on a vital step – exfoliating.
Exfoliating your body once a week will help you achieve softer, smoother skin, and the best bit is, that it’s easy as pie to do!
Here are some simple steps you can follow to achieve silky smooth skin.
1) Before your bath or shower, brush your body with a loofah or exfoliating gloves. Start at your feet and ankles and work your way up in sweeping motions.
2) Once your skin is wet, apply an exfoliating cleanser to your loofah or gloves and scrub your body in circular motions. Remember: be gentle! A harder scrub doesn’t mean better exfoliation.
3) Make sure you focus on rougher areas, such as heels.
4) Apply a body treatment that will continue the exfoliation process. Try: La Mer The Body Refiner. Infused with over a carat and a half of pure diamond powder, the treatment works to polish the skin, leaving it feeling smoother and softer. The luxury body product has a low pH level, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin.
5) Follow this with a body moisturiser. La Mer The Body Crème intensely moisturises skin, while the algae in the formula restores suppleness and clarity to your skin.
What are your exfoliating tips? Do you exfoliate your body?

If I've had a massage, I'll leave the oil to soak into my skin and then have a good shower using an exfoliant and exfoliating gloves for a double whammy. The amount of gunk that comes out of the skin is amazing!

use natural exfoliants on your face! i.e. products with AHA's that occur naturally in fruits! No more harsh chemical exfoliants for the most delicate area of our skin!

Another great tip is to mix olive oil, brown sugar and ground coffee which reduces cellulite and provides hydration and exfoliation! Remember to not OVER exfoliate and to always moisturise after!

I have these weird red bumps along my arms and legs so I always exfoliate to reduce it. But I have been starting to use oats as an exfoliator. Still not sure if it's wprkingbyet but it does reduce the redness. And it does always smell lovely in he shower (and no it doesn't clog my drains lol)

Great tips! Only recently have I just started exfoliating every week and the rewards on your skin/body are so worth it. I follow it with applying a body oil and my skin feels soft for ages.

That body refiner sounds nice, might look for a similar but cheaper one and see if that makes a difference.

Great exfoliating tips Carli! I'm a bit of a lazy with this step. I usually just use an exfoliating gloves, but I haven't found it's made much of a difference. I can see why now thanks to your advice. Must look into an exfoliating cleanser, thanks!
