What does your smile say about you?

Your smile can say a lot about you. More than just that you’re happy or find someone hilarious (or ate some spinach for lunch and forgot to check your teeth).
According to Dr. Christian Coachman, the founder of Digital Smile design (and sixth generation dentist), your smile can affect the way in which people perceive you and by changing your smile, you can change people’s impression of you.
Dr. Coachman works with four basic designs, which each relate to a specific temperament.
These are the four shapes and how you can identify each:
And here’s what each smile can represent:
So if you’re in the market to fix that toothy grin of yours, you can actually do it so it reflects a certain personality trait.
“The key is to know which one will fit you better. The main question is what do you want to express with your smile?
The patient can choose to match his or her character to the smile or to choose a different design to balance their personality.
“The main question that I ask the patient is what aspects of your character do you want to highlight and what aspect do you want to soften?” says Dr. Coachman.
For example, if you have a strong personality, you can look into having a smile that reflects that and when you smile, people will perceive you as such. Or, alternatively, you can pick a melancholic design to create a more soft and delicate look and balance out your strong personality.
Who knew your smile could say so much?
Regardless of what your smile says about you, you most definitely want to be flashing the most pearly of whites, so why not try one of these hard-working whitening products:
Rapid White Tooth Whitening Bright Paste – for fresh breath, clean teeth, and super effective stain removal.
PelactivBright Pen – to work in conjunction with the PelactivBRIGHT treatment to whiten your whites.
Clever White One-Step Teeth Whitening Trays – a hard-working gel that offers great coverage and can leave teeth up to seven shades whiter.

A nice smile is always so good. Pity it is so expensive to get ones teeth straightened and whitened.

I was waiting for that info too.
I'd love to see how my smile fits into these categories.

Interesting. Despite having my two front teeth repaired (by cracks previously) I love my smile.

What about when you change your teeth with braces - does that mean you change your personality too! I'm not sure about all this - but an interesting read!

Not sure I could ever actually tell one from the other! And surely a person's eyes give context to their smile!

Agreed! There's nothing worse than a fake smile that doesn't reach the eyes. It automatically makes me doubtful of someone's intentions or worried about them...
