3 beauty treatments that are worth the investment

If you were asked how much you spend on beauty treatments, makeup and skin care products in a year, would you know? In a survey conducted for Invisalign Australia, by Ipsos it was revealed that the average woman spends over $3,500 per year on beauty and grooming. Unsurprisingly, over 70% of survey respondents were surprised or shocked by their yearly spend as they realised they’ve been spending far more on beauty and grooming than expected. Keeping up with beauty trends can be costly (and time-consuming). However, there are some beauty treatments that are worth the seemingly bigger investment upfront, as they can actually save you time and money down the line.

From a better smile to luscious lashes without mascara, here are three beauty treatments that are definitely worth the investment.
Invisalign treatment
If you feel self-conscious about your smile, you’re not alone. Invisalign Australia’s survey revealed that 58% of women say that the facial feature they are most self-conscious about is their teeth and smile. In fact, around three in four women would love to get some aspect of their teeth fixed. So, you’re probably wondering why people are so concerned with their smile? Although a lot of women would like to have aspects of their teeth fixed, many don’t do anything about it because of the thought of the cost, which can be a significant investment upfront. While this is true, the good news is that once you have invested in straightening your teeth there can be life long benefits, which could save you time and money in the long run. These include things like improved oral health (less trips to the dentist going forward? Yes please!) and increased confidence, which can mean less time and money spent on other products purchased solely to help create a diversion from your smile. The Invisalign System uses the most advanced teeth straightening technology in the world. Plus, the treatment easily fits into your lifestyle, so that you can keep living your best life while improving the appearance of your teeth. You’ll also have fewer visits to the clinic than you would with traditional teeth straightening treatments, saving you time in the process.
Invisalign® treatment is a series of clear plastic removable orthodontic aligners that gently move patients’ teeth. An orthodontist or Invisalign trained dentist will be able to advise whether Invisalign treatment is right for you. You should always read and follow their directions for use. In rare cases, allergies may occur.
Lash extensions
While lash extensions will cost you more than a few tubes of mascara, they are a great investment over time. From the moment you wake up, lash extensions will help you to feel more put together. This means you can seriously cut down on your makeup spend as you won’t feel like you need to wear as much. You barely need any eye makeup, eyeliner becomes unnecessary, and because your eyes are the main attraction, you can skip foundation in favour of a tinted moisturiser. Although the initial investment can seem a bit exxy – the money you’ll save by not using as many makeup products is well worth it. Plus, you’ll achieve a fresh-faced beauty look in record time!
Laser hair removal
Even for those who aren’t particularly hairy, laser hair removal is a great beauty investment. Think about it… how much money would you spend on shaving or getting a wax every few weeks? Laser hair removal can last for over a year, so the initial splurge and appointment commitments are well worth it over time. Plus, ingrown hairs are a thing of the past so you’ll be saving on products to treat that too.

I'm almost at the end of my invisalign treatment, and so so so glad with it. In particular i had a tooth in the middle that stood out and embarrassed me so much, its perfectly in line and i can't tell which one used to be wonky and stand out.

Eyelash extensions were TORTURE for me, my eyes constantly burnt and showering was so uncomfortable, they looked great but definitely not worth it. I also feel they damaged my natural ones for a little bit, it could be that I have sensitive eyes but I just would not recommend. Some falsies when you have an event are a much better choice in my opinion so I would substitute this for something like skin needling or some other skin treatment.

I'm lucky to have not needed braces or invisalign and my lashes are quite long, so the only treatment I'd need is the laser hair removal.

I’d never get eyelash extensions as I’ve heard too many negative reviews. I’d love to have laser hair removal and would definitely give it a try if I could afford it.

I know I agree about the lashes. Plus I can't see how you would "Save" money by doing that I think it will save "time" but cost more just like microblading for example. Great in theory but price wise costs way more.

Laser hair removal YES! This has been a godsend for my underarms and legs. I am now free to wear a dress without worrying about my hairy legs. I'd love to try lash extensions but am worried about any lasting damage to my real lashes.

I have seen too many friends lose their natural Lashes while getting lash extensions so I would only ever get them done for a big event, and not keep up the maintenance. I had braces twice... And my mum just got hers off and she is in her 70's, I think teeth form a great deal of people's self esteem so invisalign sounds great. I'm too fair for laser hair removal, but it's never really been something I'm interested in due to the cost.

I love the look of lash extensions but I'm too wary of losing my natural lashes to actually go for them.

I have Invisalign, I wouldn't do lashes, I WISH I could have laser! I'm too fair. I am considering electrolysis...

Electrolysis is much better than laser as it’s permanent rather than semi-permanent!

I had electrolysis on unwanted hairs on my chin when I was about 28, but the hairs grew back. Also, the treatment was unbearably painful. I'm now in my fifties and these hairs are much tougher and longer. Perhaps electrolysis treatments today are more effective than they were when I had them done.
