How-to: Make a fake tan removal scrub
If you’ve ever self-tanned, you’ve had a fake tan fail at some point. It’s almost always right before a big night out, and it usually involves orange palms or streaky legs. F-A-I-L.
Don’t stress. All your need to fix your faux glow mishap is a homemade scrub of lemon and sugar.
So, why lemon and sugar? Well, lemon juice is naturally acidic and acts like a mild form of bleach, making it perfect for lifting away stubborn fake tan formulas. Sugar is an excellent exfoliant, so it’s very effective when mixed with lemon.
Ready to make your scrub? Check out the video above for the recipe and you’ll have the perfect tan in next to no time! Oh, and while you’re at it, homeheaven has shared their de-lish lemon, gin and ginger cocktail with us – may we suggest you sip on it while you get ready for your next girls night out?

Sounds great, and lemon is such a diverse super food. Just not great for the tooth enamel.

This is a great DIY. I would possibly be careful with how much lemon juice is used though as it can cause sunburn if you are heading out in the sun straight after doing it.

I prefer skin being its natural colour, so I don't do fake tans. However, I always love DIY beauty recipes.
