Video: Time to say goodbye

It’s a sad day in the beauty world when you find out that one of your all-time favourite products is being discontinued.
And today, I begin my bid farewell (and my mad rush to the supermarkets to snap up each and every last remaining tube) to a product that’s been my faithful friend for many years – Rimmel Sunshimmer Sexy Legs with Lycra.
Oh the memories we’ve shared together and the sickly white situations it’s helped me get through…
Here’s a little vid on just why I love this product:

Have you ever had to say goodye to a favourite beauty buy? What was it?

This happens most often with foundation or moisturisers I love, but on the upside I get totry new things when it happens and it opens me up to a whole new world of possibilities :)

I just found out the other day that the Body Shop has discontinued most of their perfume oils...including my all time favourite -- the strawberry one. :(
And apparently, none of the stores even have any left for me to buy one last bottle!

L'Oreal Happyderm Cleansing Mousse, Decore Blonde 3, Impulse London Chic, Avon Candid just to name a few, I am sure if I sat long enough I could come up with heaps more. Funny also how just when you begin to really love or rely on a product it dissapears but great that it doesnt take too long and you find lots more to be happy about.

Another favourite of mine was Sally Hansen Invisible Lip Liner. I will be lost now without it as it stops my gloss and lipstick from bleeding out. Does anyone else know of a good wax liner?

Max Factor Silk Gloss was recently discontinued and it's very upsetting that they replaced this gorgeous, shimmery, glossy gloss with the crappy, sunscreen tasting, doesn't last long, Max Factor Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss which really has not much pigment. Why, why, why!

Virtually every time I learn to like a product it becomes discontinued. I'm forever trying to chase up remnants of a range. I remember when the last version of Kleenex pocket tissues were discontinued (before most of you were born) I ran out and bought boxes full. I still have quite a few left over. They were only two ply, so now I'm used to three ply and the old version are resting on the floor of my cupboard. I did the same with "Rare Gold" Body Creme Brilliance by Avon. Bought about a dozen tubes of it - each with 100 gm of cream in it. I still have about ten left. It takes forever to use up if you only use it as a hand cream. The worse was when Redken "improved" the formula for the All Soft range and discontinued the leave in conditioner. I haven't found anything as good for my hair since then. Can't understand why they did it - the new formula must be cheaper to produce, but it is much less effective. The old Decore shampoo/conditioners - the herbal ones that they had back in the 70s - was my first experience of grief following the loss of a favourite product. What can I say - you get used to it and move on.

Poor Deb.. I was sad when revlon discontinued their 'streetwear' range I loved the eyeliners which had a flat colour on one end and a frosty colour on the other. my favourite was 'drab' which was a smokey grey/olive green, they are on ebay every now and then but so expensive. have fun stocking up!

Hiya Deb, so glad it's not you that's been discontinued ♥ My saddest day was when Clairol discontinued Nice 'N' Easy hair colour in Natural Copper Red. I did the same thing - went out and bought every pack in the immediate vicinity, and then the Central Coast. Ended up with enough to last me 12 months (colouring every 3 weeks) but it did come to an end eventually. Boo hoo - by far the best natural looking red hair shade on the market. Sucks big time. I've found alternatives, but they're nowhere near as good... Shame Clairol, shame...

Grrrr I so hate when that happens!!! And it's never the crappy products no one likes, NOOO it has to be all the good stuff.... I used to have an eyeshadow by Shiseido that was discontinued and I never ever found anything similar... And they never made the same color.... sniff :'(

Wow now I want to try that but probably should avoid it as that way I won't know what I'm missing,
I'm really dissapointed that the L'Oreal Matte Cashmere foundation has been discontinued as it is my fave heavy duty foundation for going out at night or for attending events and while I've heard pretty good things about the Matte Morphis and am waiting on a sample to trial I'm sure it just won't cut it for me. My other issue with products is the limited release Body Shop Body Butters as I always like these the best but they don't stick around for long, my fave so far has been the peach and the pomegranate which were divine.

I have had the sad experience of losing a beloved product. I was devastated when Ponds Deep Cleanser left the shelves (but happy to find Dove's very similiar/same product). I was also sad to say goodbye to Sky High Curves Mascara. Great product with a silly name that no doubt put people off. Can still be obtained in some bargain bins I'm happy to say.

I'm not a very loyal to my products so am lucky that nothing I love have been discontinued. What i hate more is when companies quietly re-formulate their products so there are changes - and its for the worse. That's worse than it being discontinued as everytime I see it, I just despise it even more.
