The contour trend continues

I don’t know about you but I’ve well and truly jumped on the contouring bandwagon. I have quite round cheeks so the huge range of contour kits on the market means I can experiment with more chiselled make-up looks that Kimmy K would be proud of! These are just a few of my faves:
1) Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Sculpt Contouring Palette
2) Australis AC ON TOUR Contouring and Highlighting Kit
3) Clinique Sculptionary Cheek Contouring Palette
So, it’s no surprise that when I heard about ‘body contouring’ I just had to find out more. Similar to contouring your face with make-up, body contouring involves using light and dark shades to strategically shape areas of the body to look slimmer and more defined (like real-life photoshopping!). So, how do you do it? It’s all about using the natural curves of your body and thinking about where the light naturally hits these areas. Check out our guide below!
Cleavage
For killer cleavage, use an instant tan spray or shimmer bronzer in a light colour to highlight the natural ‘v’ shape curve of your chest. Your breasts will look instantly fuller and lifted, sans VS Bombshell Bra!
Arms
Whether you’re a gym junkie or not, your arms will have natural definition when you flex. Spray your favourite instant tanner in the crevice your flexed muscle creates to enhance the definition and craft a slimmer-looking arm!
Abs
Spraying a tic-tac-toe grid on your stomach will not give you an instant six-pack (if only!) however shading either side of your tum will sculpt your mid-section to create the illusion of tighter abs.
Thighs
Having inherited the Bradley family thunder thighs, I’m all for any tricks to help them appear slimmer. Enter, body contouring! Since darker areas absorb light, darkening the outward-facing surface of your thighs will make them look smaller. So, pre-beach day, apply an extra layer of your overnight tan down the outside edges of your thighs.
As with contouring your face, you need a base layer before you start sculpting, so ensure you’ve already applied a glowing layer of even tan all over your body before you spray your way to a slimmer you. God, I love fake tan!
Here are my picks for products that will help to firm your skin and contour your body:
4) Model Co Tan Airbrush in a Can
5) Le Tan Wash Off Dark Brozne
6) Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam
7) Rimmel London Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse
8) Babor Body Cellular Ultimate 3D Cellulite Lotion
10) The Body Shop Baked-To-Last Bronzer
What do you think of body contouring? Would you try it?

Interesting but other than applying bronzing powder to enhance my boobs that's all I'm going to do....

I've heard of body contouring before, apparently there are "spray tanners to the stars" who have got this whole body contouring thing down pat and they make big bucks making celebrity pins even sexier. Even all of those perfect abs in the movies involve a bit of sneaky contouring too- (like in the movie 300) It does seem like a lot of effort for everyday life, but with these little tips I'll definitely give it a go next time I am dressing to impress. I'll take slimmer thighs and toned arms at a spray any day! Great article!

No not into body contouring, perhaps the only area I do like to enhance is my boobs.

It sounds like a great concept but I'm not sure about practicality...it probably would sweat off if I was at the beach and if I were in evening clothes I wouldn't want it to rub off on them...

I have mixed feelings about whether facial contouring is necessary, so body contouring sounds ridiculous.

The cleavage tip has been around forever. Really think body contouring though, in general, is just taking the whole contouring fad too far

I thought contouring the clevage had been around for a while? I'm happy sticking with my face though.

LOL. I'm happy to contour my face and neck, but elsewhere seems a bit extreme.

Sounds great in theory, but I'm too lazy to contour my body. I love contouring my face but I doubt I'll extend that to my body.

omgosh I'd never get out of the house if I have to start contouring my body as well! no amount of ac/contouring will fix it, lol But seriously, that is going a bit too far to do your body - I have done a little on my cleavage but that is the limit for me.
