Tatt's gotta hurt

Don’t you just hate it when you go to the hairdresser with a picture of a famous starlet only to walk out again, an hour or so later, looking more pleb than celeb.
This is the same but like, a trillion times worse. So bad in fact that I can’t help but laugh in an OMG way. Belgian teenager Kimberley Vlaminck – who, might I add, is just 18 – popped along to her local tattoo parlour to have three stars inked next to her left eye. As you do. Daddy paid. Riiiight.
She then fell asleep while pops was outside eating an ice cream – does anyone else think this is all back to front? – only to wake up with 56 black stars across her WHOLE face. I kid thee not – see inset.
Vlaminck is now seeking damages in the thousands claiming that she “cannot go out on to the street, I just look ugly, a freak, mutilated.”
The moral of the story kids: it works for old sexpots like Megan Fox and Angie but us mere mortals? Not so much. (Oh and don’t fall asleep. Ever.)
However if you still want to go ahead and make your mark, perhaps select a tattooist who uses Infinitink. Ten years in the making and just recently gracing our shores, it’s a permanent ink that’s up to three to four times more removable than conventional tattoo ink, surely making it a favourite for those wise guys who opt for tongue tattoos (above) or ‘the one’s’ name. Yes Mr Depp, I’m looking at you.
Developed by Dr Rox Anderson, a Harvard dermatology professor and Dr Edith Mathiowitz, a professor of medical science and engineering at Brown University, Infinitink uses the same technology as microencapsulating medicines in plastic polymers to control the time and rate that the drugs release in the body. The wizz-bang technology traps the dye pigments in microscopic beads coated with safe, biodegradable plastic that’s designed to break open when exposed to heat, thus making it easy to laser off.
Heck it’s all a tad confusing for my uninked mind to take in, but it does have the nod of approval from leading tatt men Brandon Bond, Chris Blinston and Brian Murphy, so go for your lives tatt fans.
So bh-ers, who amongst you is inked? Who feels strongly against it? Tell me all…

How do you go from 3 stars to your eye to your whole face being tatted?

I dont have any tatts. Would like a little one though but cant decide on the design I like. Some look really nice but I think they should be little and subtle. Ima bit weary on branding my body for life though. My boyfriend has one on his arm which he regrets, but I think it looks sexy

I agree with Kylie 888. Good comments I think the question you should always ask yourself before getting a tat is "what is it going to look like when you are 60". At 48, many of my friends are now regreting the foolishness & impulsiveness of youth & the tats they got, that they were so proud of then. I think it spoils the look when you see a beautiful girl dressed to the nines & then theres a tattoo. Not very classy & one of the worst fashion trends of the 2000's

i dont know why youwould want to get a tattoo on your face at all anyway, i think it just looks tacky. think about when you get old, and the tattoo is all wrinkled, just like the rest of you

I think tattoos ~can~ be cute/sexy, but they're permanent, so not really my cup of tea. And what design to get? If I were to get one, I'd want something meaningful, not just to do it as part of a trend. I'd rather just play with airbrush ones that will last a few days and look great.

I am a tatto love but think that you need to think before you ink after all it's not going to wash off in the bath. I have 3 tattoos on my upper back and there is no way I could have gone to sleep through the 3 hr process how this girl can claim that she went to sleep is beyond me i think she is full of it!!

I think tattoos often look like someone has a dirty mark on their skin that they haven't washed off!

oh i love that tongue lol.... well i have ti agree with all the bh bloggers, HOW COULD SHE HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP, I SAY SHE SHOULD OF THOUGH ABOUT IT BEFORE RUININJG YOUR FACE, WHICH IS A CANVAS OF YOU AND YOUR LIFE. SILLY SILLY SILLY GIRL, IM 21 AND WANT A TATOO BUT I WILL WAIT UNTIL I FIND WHAT I REALLY WANT, AND SOMETHING THAT IS MEANINGFUL, i fear the youth of today are growing up way to much especially with sex, drugs and alcohol/tatoo, why??? when i was 13/14 i was still into barbie and winnie the pooh and actually liked school, it seems the youth of today are like mini adults (well certainly the way they act), and all we have to blame is the media, ourselves and i have to say singers and actors that are meant to be role models hmmm hmmmm... such as riri ( i still think she is gorgeous, but wats wit all the random tatts, and the naked photos, and a messed up ex bf/bf or wateva he is. RiRi is meant to be a role model, since i have to say prob more than half of her fANS A YOUNG GIRLS AND "TEENY BOPPERS" SO WHY NOT TONE IT DOWN A BIT, AND SAVE THE MATURE STUFF FOR WHEN YOU ACTUALLY MATURE. THANKS MY HUMBLE BLOGGERS FOR LISTENING TO MY WHINGE...but i started thinking, then typing and now i have wrote a book. love n peace xoxoxoxo

Im sorry...but unless you where so drunk that you passed out, or you where on some serious drugs...you CAN NOT fall asleep while getting a tattoo an such a sensitive body part as your FACE...and as for a tattoo on your lower back...each to your own, but my brothers mates call them Tramp Stamps...they dont really look all that classy once your 50 years old and you bend over at the supermarket. :)

I have one tattoo on my left ankle and I had a similar fake version for a couple of weeks until I decided that yes, I was going to take the plunge and go for it. I chose an inconspicuous spot because I didn't want it to turn into an eyesore when I got old and wrinkly (and let's face it, how many of us stare at ankles?). 11 years on and I still love it. I have no regrets because I thought long and hard about the design and I would recommend anyone who is deciding to get a tattoo for the first time to get a mock, temporary one just to be sure. For 2 years my mum thought it was fake and she said "that's never going to come off, is it?" and that cracked me up!
As for that girl with 56 stars, she's an idiot. First off, unless she was under anaesthesia, there's no way she could fall asleep whilst getting tattoos on her face and I reckon she's backtracking cos her old man's upset with the way she looks and now she's trying to palm the blame on someone else. She's clearly too immature to even think about getting a tattoo if she can't handle the backlash!

I want to get a tattoo on my lower back I think that it looks quite sexy on women but I do wonder if it's going to be sexy when I,m 83,as for this article she's full of it.

I have a single tattoo that I drew myself of a sun which is generic yet means a lot to me. A few of my friends at the time were not so intelligent and forward thinking, they got tats of flags, and even their own name on the inside of their wrists. Why, in case they get too drunk and can't remember their names. I think tattoos are something you really need to put a lot of time and effort into deciding and not do it on a whim even if it can be removed easier.

I refuse to get a tatt, while they may look 'cool' now, they'll only look trashy as we get older. I know there's an argument that you just put it somewhere you can cover up when you're older but I'd still have to see it and that's not something I'm willing to do. I can appreciate them on other people though.

That tattoo on the tongue looks really cool!! Great artwork!!
I wouldn't do it myself but it's pretty neat.
Tattoo's are definately up to the individual. It's not for all.
I do like tattoo's but only if they have a significant meaning. If the the tattoo was done just because, "it looked hot" or something, then they are more likely to be regretted in the years to come.
I have two tattoo's, in which can only be seen if I choose to show people, it means so much to be and it was done when i was 18, and the other at 22. No regrets, would like to get some more ink in the next coming years..
The story of this girl is abit sad, in that she's kicking herself now, sometimes common sense isn't that common though and i don't think she needs ridicule from the world as she knows herself now what she's done.

Wow. Something in the comments here... interests me - a lot of you 'don't like tattoos on women'. Interesting indeed. That said, I think tattoos can be great as long as people think about what they're doing. A friend said this, and I agree: "You shouldn't choose an image for your tattoo, you should see the image and think - this is meaningful to me. How can I incorporate it into my life?" So stars under the eyes (or misc. butterflies etc.) are not something I'm likely to go for!

I could fall asleep getting tattoos on other parts of my body, but not the face! Stars and facial tatts should be left to Kat Von D.
I love tattoos, but this story is so dodgy. And the tongue picture is photoshopped.
